Top 10 Richest ENGINEERS in the World

With the just released Forbes top 100 richest people in the world in 2015, we count down the top 10 richest Engineers in the World.
Forbes has pointed out that Engineers in the technological sector are bringing out more self made billionaires than most other industries. Forbes further went ahead to point out that seven of the worlds 15 richest self made billionaires in the world earned their money through technology. The 15 billionaires altogether worth $426 billion as their wealth grew 11.6% from last year.
One of such is the Jack Ma Co-founder of Ali baba( IT company) who moved into the top echelon in technology after his wealth more than doubled to 22.7 billion dollars. Now he is the richest ever Chinese techie and richest man in China.
Bill gates, owner of Microsoft an American I.T company still remains the richest man in the planet for the 16th time out of the past 21 yrs and still the richest person in the technology sphere with a net worth of 79.2 billion dollars.
Now let’s countdown the 10 richest men with Engineering background in the world.
1. Carlos Slim:
Definitely the richest Engineer and 2nd richest man in the world with his $77.1 Billion. Mr. Slim owns the Grupo Carso conglomerate with interests in finance, communication, retailing and technology. Carlos slim Mexican has a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico.
2. Charles Koch:
The CEO of Koch Industries is strongly related to the MIT educational system having degrees in General Engineering, M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering and M.Sc. Chemical Engineering. Koch Industries works mainly in the fields of chemicals and oil refining which brought to Charles Koch $42.9 Billion.
3. David Koch:
This is the brother of Charles Koch and a co-owner of Koch Industries having 42% of the company. He has the same financial status as his brother – $42.9 Billion. David Koch has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering.
4. Bernard Arnault:
This French engineer with engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique is worth $37.2 Billion. He made a significant leap from last year’s position as the 5th richest Engineer in the world with $29 billion to 4th this year. He is a CEO of LVMH, a company that operates in the field of luxury goods.
5. Michael Bloomberg:
Down one spot from last year’s top 10 Richest Engineers. A onetime Mayor of New York city and owner of 88% of Bloomberg L.P. He is an electrical engineer with a Bachelor’s Degree from John Hopkins University. His wealth is evaluated at $35.5 Billion.
6. Jef Bezos:
This one of the pioneers in e-commerce who had a significant role in the growth of this field. The founder of Amazon has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from Princeton University. His wealth is evaluated at $34.8 Billion.
7. Larry Page:
The CEO and co-founder of Google has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Computer Science from Stanford University. This man created Google‘s Page Rank on which is based the ranking algorithm of the largest search engine on the internet. He is worth $29.7 Billion.
8. Sergey Brin: 
Also co-founder of Google, he has a degree in Computer Science from Stanford University. His wealth is known to be $29.2 Billion. Brin is now a US citizen, but he was born within the borders of the Soviet Union. He and his family arrived to USA while Sergey was 6 years old.
9. Mukesh Ambani:
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bombay and is now a chairman of Reliance Industries Limited . His wealth is evaluated at $21 Billion.
10. Thomas Kwok:
He has a MBA degree from London Business School, University of London and his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering comes from the Imperial College, University of London. Now he is managing director of Sun Hung Kai Properties. Thomas Kwok, together with his brothers Walter and Raymond who are also in the company, has $15.9 Billion.
